2008 Governor’s School for the Arts
The Governor’s School for the Arts is made possible through a unique partnership among the Commonwealth of Kentucky, corporations, foundations, and individuals, such as parents of current and former GSA students and other friends.
The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts initiated the program in 1987 and continues to administer and nurture it. GSA would not be possible without the leadership and support of:
Governor Steve Beshear
The Kentucky General Assembly
Marcheta Sparrow, Secretary
Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet
Lindy Casebier, Deputy Secretary
Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet
The Kentucky Center Board of Directors
The Kentucky Center Endowment Fund Board of Directors
Ashland Inc.
The Kentucky Center Endowment
National City
Toyota Motor Manufacturing, KY, Inc.
Transylvania University
GSA would like to extend special thanks The GSA Advisory Council and Helen Carroll, Chair for their leadership and support.
In addition to state support, GSA relies on contributions from more than 300 corporations, parents, educators and friends of arts education, including the following 2008 leadership gifts:
