1987
Nettrice Gaskins is a Computer Arts and Community Liaison at the Massachusetts College of Art where she teaches and develops workshops focused on computer art including imaging, time-based applications, and multimedia. Nettrice is also adjunct faculty at UMass Boston. She holds a BFA in Computer Graphics from Pratt Institute and MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Marshall Hall (Vocal Music) became a studio singer after graduating from Anderson University.  He later joined the gospel quartet, the Gaither Vocal Band.

Graham Thomas Shelby (Creative Writing) spent three years teaching English in Japan. He later became a professional storyteller, performing original stories (many set in Japan) in schools, libraries and festivals around the U.S. He has been published in various newspapers, magazines and anthologies and has worked extensively in public radio, contributing to several programs including A Prairie Home Companion, Marketplace and Weekend America.  He lives in Louisville with his wife and children and is working on his first book.


1988
Beth Hall Allison (Vocal Music) is married with three beautiful kids. She and her husband pastor a church outside of Nashville. She also heads up the church’s Fine Arts department.  Beth continues to sing vocals in various music projects and is active in the local music scene. She has also began a new photography business. Travis Manley (Creative Writing) was recently promoted to deputy director of emergency management and homeland security at the University of Kentucky in 2005 after serving 11 years with the UK police department. Scott McLaughlin (Creative Writing) is a freelance writer for LEO in Louisville. Jane Tilford Watkins (Vocal Music) attended the Cleveland Institute of Music and received her Master’s in Vocal Performance in 1996. She has sung in several Oratorio works as soprano soloists including Handel’s Messiah. Wendy Seifert (Visual Art) is an architectural & product photographer for Closson’s Interior Design in Cincinnati, OH. She also manages the Framing Dept. for Closson’s and volunteers her photography skills for local, human-rights and Arts organizations such as StopAIDS, Impact Over-The Rhine, and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. Lisa Menne Adkins (Creative Writing) is married with 2 daughters. She has been a physical therapist in Northern KY for 13 years.

1989

Barron Jones (Instrumental Music) is starting his tenth year of teaching at Madison Southern High School (now as assistant director) and Foley Middle School, where he is full-time director. Ted Kimmel (Creative Writing) is currently a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Iraq. Lauren Weigel (Drama) is a producer for an off-Broadway production company, The Play Company. Moria Givens Taylor (Dance) received a dance minor at Western Kentucky University. Moira operates her own dance studio and currently lives in Clarksville, Tennessee. She taught dance in TN for 8 yrs before having her second child.  

1990

Nathan Andary (Dance) received his BFA in Dance from Ohio University and went on to dance for the Salt Creek Ballet Company in Chicago, The Fusionworks Dance Company of Rhode Island, KITSUNEButoh of Boston and Katsura Kan in the Salt Imbaguines. Todd Chamberlain (Instrumental Music) received his Master’s degree in music education from Southern Oregon University in 2002. He currently is the Associate Director of bands at Henry Clay high school. Margaret Fitts Stein (Dance) is currently working in her hometown of Bowling Green for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. She and her husband have a son, Nathaniel Nelson. James Smith (Instrumental Music) has finished ob-gyn residency 2007 and now in practice with Norton Healthcare. He is also pursuing a Masters of Music degree in flute performance at U of L part-time. James Smith (Instrumental Music) has finished ob-gyn residency 2007 and now in practice with Norton Healthcare. He continues to play the flute for enjoyment.


1991

Bonnie Moore McCarty (Creative Writing) is the assistant director of scholarships at Middle Tennessee State University, the largest undergraduate institution in Tennessee. She is married with two children. Michelle Stanton Phillips (Dance) is currently living in New York City and is a Radio City Rockette. Spiff Wiegand (Creative Writing) has a band, The Randy Bandits, and they have just released their first CD, REDBEARD.

1992
Bridget Herp Couch (Visual Art) married fellow GSA Alum Stephen Couch. She is a graphic designer and Stephen is a professional musician and music teacher. Greg Sample (Dance) is currently living in Las Vegas and has performed with the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Celine Dion and A New Day.  Angie Everett (Visual Art) recently opened the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of Art Without Boundaries TM and is a Certified MnemeTherapist TM. www.artwithoutboundaries.org   

1993

Branan Whitehead (Drama) is currently living in New York City where is he is acting and directing. Erin Keane (Creative Writing) is founder and director of the InKY Reading Series, a monthly literature and music series in Louisville. Her chapbook, One Hit-Wonders, was published by Snark Publishing in 2006. She was a recipient of a fellowship from the Kimmel Nelson Harding Center for the Arts in Nebraska.

1994

Chip Anderson (Instrumental Music) is the band director in Henry County, teaching middle school and high school band, guitar, music theory, general music and humanities. Jessica Grimsley Crabtree (Instrumental Music) just finished her Master’s degree and still continues her musical interests by playing in a local brass quartet. Beth Newberry is pursuing her Master’s of Fine Arts degree in writing from Spalding University (with a focus in creative non-fiction). She is involved in the InKY Reading Series, a monthly literature and music series in Louisville, where she is music coordinator and secretary of the board. She is also vice-president of the Louisville chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Tara Niendam (Drama) is currently an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at UC-Davis.  She also works for the UC Davis Imaging Research Center as well as UC Davis Health System. She earned an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from UCLA.  Molly Seifert (Drama) is currently working as a drama and English teacher at Beechwood High School in northern Kentucky.

1995
Matt Smith (Instrumental Music) is a professional freelance horn player in the Louisville and Cincinnati areas, regularly performing with the Louisville and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras.

1996

Pam Bischoff (Instrumental Music) is executive director at the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen in Berea. Tracey McCauley Sanchez (Visual Art) began her fourth year as a teacher in Fayette County. She still loves to paint and tries to involve it in her class as much as she can.
Carrie Olivia (Ferguson) Adams, Creative Writing works for the University of Chicago Press and is the poetry editor for Black Ocean, an independent press based out of Boston. Her poems and criticism have appeared in such places as Quarterly West, Verse, Backwards City Review, Cranky, DIAGRAM, and Lilies and Cannonballs. Her chapbook "A Useless Window," was published in March 2006 and her first full-length collection of poems, Intervening Absence, is forthcoming from Ahsahta Press.
Ryan McNulty (Visual Art) attended Indiana University with a major in studio art. He is a product designer for Sid Factor 7 in Boulder, Colorado.  Jonathan Katz (Creative Writing) is the Associated Press correspondent in Haiti, with previous assignments in Washington, Jerusalem and the Dominican Republic. He has also written for Slate, Miller-McCune and Congressional Quarterly, and commented for BBC Radio.  Stephen Beasley (Vocal Music) After studying at the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music and graduating from University of Charleston with a BA in Music Administration in 2002, Stephen settled just outside New York City, to live, work and earn his MFA in Theatre Management from Brooklyn College, which he did in 2005.  In October 2007, he made a successful transition into doing arts and cultural work that enhances human services as the Theatre Director for the CAMBA HIV Anti-Stigma Theatre Troupe.

1997
Erin Shiba (Creative Writing), since graduating from Oberlin in 1998, has been running a game and comic shop in downtown Oberlin with her husband. Chad Sloan (Vocal Music) graduated from University of Louisville in vocal music, and then studied at The Juilliard School in New York City where he just finished his Master’s Degree in performance.

1998

Jennifer Alton Brown (Drama) is coaching speech and debate while pursuing her degree. She has a 5-year-old child. Daniel Ball (Instrumental Music) was in the Coast Guard for 4 years. He now plans to move to Salt Lake City and enroll at the University of Utah majoring in Marketing. John Barr (Instrumental Music) taught music in Madisonville and is completing his degree at the University of Kentucky. Jody Caldwell (Creative Writing) is a MFA student in fiction at the Iowa Writers Workshop and is working on a novel about a Kentucky writer born in the Appalachian Mountains, integrating elements of folklore and folk magic. Andrea Fenwick (Dance) lives in the Chicago area and teaches dance to children. Dan Barczak (Visual Art) is currently senior designer at Fisher Design, Inc. in Cincinnati, OH. Sara Pennington-Busick (Vocal Music) is currently assistant director for the Career Development Center at Indiana University. She currently teaches multiple career classes, holds advising and career counseling sessions, and plans numerous events on campus.  Josh Bunch (Visual Art) is a Detective at the Kentucky State Police at Harlan Post 10. He is enjoying family life with his 1yr. old daughter, Kambree.  Brandon Goad (Instrumental Music-Trombone) currently works as an international business jet captain on a transcontinental airframe. He spends months at a time overseas.

1999

Caitlin Ross (Dance) is still an active dancer. Justin Ballard (Vocal Music) lives in New York City and is pursuing musical theatre and vocal performance opportunities. Joshua Hearne (Vocal Music) is married and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Duke University Divinity School. Harper Lee (Drama) has been working for an education advocacy non-profit organization at Western Kentucky University. He is moving to Japan at the end of the summer for a year. He then plans to move to New York to pursue an MA in art journalism at Syracuse University. David Mandel-Anthony (Creative Writing) was a Humanity in Action Fellow in Europe, studying minority immigration in the Netherlands. He currently works for two international human rights groups in New York City. Bob Hall (Instrumental Music) graduated from Denison University (Granville, OH) in 2004 with a B.A. in Music.
He joined the U.S. Army as a trombone player in the band January 2008. He is now serving in the 2nd Infantry Division Band in Uijeongbu, South Korea. He will leave to get married on May 16th this year.  Then in August,  Bob will be moving to the Army Ground Forces Band at Fort McPherson (Atlanta, GA).

2000

Karen McWhorter Caldwell (Instrumental Music) graduated from Transylvania University with degrees in Music and Communications. She has her Masters in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Tennessee. Karen is currently working as a private piano teacher.

2001

Melodye Edwards (Creative Writing) graduate from college this May and is getting married this summer. Brittany Benningfield (Vocal Music) is a student at University of Kentucky pursing a Masters in Music for Vocal Performance. Zachary Fulkerson (Instrumental Music) graduated with degrees in Chemistry and Biology (minoring in Classics and Music Performance). He is currently in medical school at the University of Kentucky. Kelly Shields (Vocal Music) attends Northern Illinois University where she is currently double majoring in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in classical voice and English.

2002
Nick Covault (Vocal Music) is at the University of Kentucky double-majoring in Vocal Performance and Arts Administration. John Cartwright (Dance) is dancing professionally with the Louisville Ballet. Laura Ward (Drama) is double majoring in English and international studies at Bellarmine University. Her goal is to obtain a PhD in English and teach college. Josh Ford (Dance) has been training and teaching. He is also working on a hip hop album with his brother in Louisville. Sarah Griffin (Drama) is currently employed in the props department of the Central City Opera, Central City, CO. James Williams (Drama) graduated from the Los Angeles Film School and has continued success in the film industry.  Will Sears (Vocal Music) is a 2008 Asbury graduate. He is the Director of Communication for an environmental non-profit organization in Wilmore, KY.  Price Armstrong (Creative Writing) is at the University of Oregon in the Masters of Public Administration program, specializing in sustainable transportation policy. He received an undergraduate degree in German and American History from Hampshire College.  Price continues his involvement with improv troupes in Eugene, OR and is getting married in June 2009.

2003

Lauren Dobson (Creative Writing) currently attends the University of Louisville, pursuing a BA in English with a minor in theatre arts. She will continue in the Master’s of Arts in Teaching program and has plans to become a high school English, creative writing, and drama teacher. Ben Havrilesko (Vocal Music) attends Vanderbilt University and is majoring in engineering and vocal performance. Sean Lair (Vocal Music) recently performed the lead role of Hot Biscuit Slim in Miami University Opera's production of Benjamin Britten's Paul Bunyan.  In May, he will graduate with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Literature.  In the fall, he will be attending New England Conservatory in Boston pursuing a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance.  Hank Knight (Architecture) attends the University of Louisville and is majoring in Graphic Design, 2D Studio Arts, and Philosophy. Joy Lacenta (Musical Theatre) recently graduated with a BFA in Drama from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She currently is in New York working and doing voice over commercials. In winter and spring 2009, Joy will be in Montana doing a play called “The Clean House” by Sarah Ruhl as the role of Mathilde. 

2004

Brent Barnett (Creative Writing) has been giving readings promoting his chapbook, “FrontGround,” and his forthcoming novel, Songs about Rail.  Callie Dowdy (Creative Writing) is involved with the forensic team and the academic team and is directing the school play. Rebbie Edmonds (Musical Theatre) played the role of Rose Alvarez in her high school's production of Bye Bye Birdie . John Gillan (Visual Arts) travelled to Paris, France over the Christmas holidays. He is currently selling his paintings. Tiffany Hume (Visual Arts) is involved in mural painting as a way to give back to the community. Melanie Reason (Creative Writing) has joined an artist collective. Alexandria Sweatt (Drama) is currently looking for the right college. Nick Breiner(vocal music) is currently attending Morehead State Univ. and is a bass trombone performance major. Erin Keesy (Vocal Music) won the regional NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singers) vocal competition in Jefferson City, TN. Rachel Klapper (Instrumental Music) is attending Murray State University, where she is studying engineering physics. Lizzie Meyers (Vocal Music) has plans to attend PCC and study political science. Kevin O. Olusola (Instrumental Music) studied abroad in China for 6 months. Currently at Yale, he has switched his major from music to East Asian Studies with a concentration on China and is continuing on the pre-med track.  Dustin Pugel (Visual Art) is attending Asbury College studying history and applied communication. Josh Richards (Instrumental Music) is attending UK majoring in Music Education. Nick Hill, (Visual Art) is a sophomore at the Art Academy of Cincinnati studying painting and sculpture. He has recently exhibited work at the Chidlaw and Gateway Galleries. Ashley Quigley (Irish exchange student) is currently at Dundee University in Scotland studying History and Geography. She is involved with drama part-time at the local Rep Threatre.

2005

Emily Millizer (Dance) in July competed in a Florida National Competition. Dean Muir (Musical Theatre) won second place in the Kentucky Poetry Out Loud Competition. David Speer (Musical Theatre) will attend University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music for drama and worked for the Stephen Foster Theater Company in Bardstown during the summer.  Brittany Webster Dunn (Creative Writing) is a mother and a wife, preparing for Vet school and continues to write in her free time.  Jessica Gott (Instrumental Music) studies at Western Kentucky University.  Courtney Kennedy (Dance) is now a sophomore at The University of Florida and is a member of the University of Florida Dance Team, the Dazzlers.

2006
Andy Pickerill (Musical Theatre) attends Ball State University and is in the Musical Theatre BFA program with a minor in Spanish.  John Logan Wood (Vocal Music) attends Murray State University and is majoring in Psychology and Music Education with a minor in Spanish. He is also an RA in a residential college.  

2007

Becky Flanery (Architecture) is studying Architecture at University of Kentucky.  Sage Martin (Drama) has been accepted and will be attending the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.

2008

Derek Roberts (Vocal Music) is looking into colleges and continues to take multiple music classes and lessons. He has also been accepted into KMEA All-State choir for a second year.
